Ingredients

  • 6 Tbsp Maida / Plain Flour / All Purpose Flour / Refined Flour
  • 1.5 Tbsp Cocoa Powder
  • 3 Tbsp Powdered Sugar / Icing Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Baking Soda
  • 4 Tbsp Oil
  • 1/3 Cup Milk
  • Chocolate filled Cookies / Chocolate (optional)
  • 1 Chocolate Bar of your choice (Dairy Milk – Rs.20/-)
  • 1 Tbsp Cream

Instructions

  • Take a mug and add maida, cocoa powder, powdered sugar, baking powder and baking soda to it.
  • Mix all the dry ingredients.
  • Now add oil and milk.
  • Mix well until it gives a smooth silky texture (add a tsp of oil and 2 tsp of milk, if batter is not smooth).
  • Crush the cookies / chocolate and add on the top (Optional as you can keep the cake plain too.
  • Mix gently all the ingredients.
  • Preheat the oven and microwave the cake for 3-5 minutes (baking time may vary from oven to oven, so keep checking post every 2 minutes).
  • Serve as it is or alternatively, add some chocolate ganache on the cake.
  • For chocolate ganache:
    1) In a bowl, break the chocolate bar into pieces and add cream to it.
    2) Microwave it for 20 sec.
    3) Take out and mix everything for a smooth texture.
  • Now prick the cake using fork/knife or skewer.
  • Spread chocolate ganache on the top of it and tap the mug for a while.
  • Leave it for around 10 minutes so that ganache can be absorbed by the cake.

Cooking Tips:

  • The temperature of the oven/microwave vary, so it is advisable to check the cake every 2 minutes. My microwave took a total of 4-5 minutes for perfect baking.
  • You may have this cake plain or you may add chocolate/cookies crumble or choco chips to this. Also as a topping, you may add chocolate ganache or have it plain; completely as per your preference.
  • It tastes delicious when midly warm but you can have it as you like.
